The Joshua Tree Escape I Didn’t Know I Needed
A weekend of starry skies, slow mornings, and the reset I didn't realize I needed.
Sometimes the best trips aren’t the ones packed with activities. They’re the ones where you finally give yourself permission to slow down.
That’s exactly what I found at Loma Vista, a peaceful desert retreat tucked just outside Joshua Tree National Park.
I’ve always loved Joshua Tree for how restorative it feels. There’s something about the dry desert air, the endless open space, the golden light that seems to stretch for hours, and the stars that emerge after sunset that instantly quiets my nervous system. It’s one of the few places where I can truly unplug.
And Loma Vista gives you a front-row seat to all of it.
The first thing I noticed was the view. Unlike many properties in the area, the desert landscape feels completely uninterrupted. From the back patio, you can watch the sun slowly disappear behind the mountains as the sky shifts from gold to pink to deep indigo.
